Dress well. Feel well. How Fashion Affects Our Minds

Dress well. Feel well.
Summer is finally here and we’re already feeling better. And don’t do it just because summer is here, do it for a better state of mind. A recent study tells us that increased abstract thinking was improved when participants wore formal business attire. Another study shows that your negotiation skills can actually be hurt if you wear informal clothing compared to a suit. The same study also showed that participants who dressed down also had lower testosterone levels. However we feel that the most fascinating result was from a study that found that those who wore more unique and different styles. The participants’ ratings of a professor’s competence and status increased when the professor was asked to wear red Converse. In explaining this trend, it was described that people see these quirky modifications to normal attire positively as it indicates that the individual has enough power to risk the potential social costs of such behaviours.

Well then, what does this tell us? Firstly, be yourselves, never change your fashion sense just to become more liked or accepted. But while buying Atolyestone pieces this summer, going for more vibrant and dynamic mens beaded bracelets that are more eye catching could make you more respected and seen under a more positive light in social circles. Hey don’t listen to us, listen to science! Yet if you work in a really professional office environment we recommend for going for beaded bracelets or leather bracelets that contain more matt and basic colours. Whatever you do though, be yourself!
